So I live near Tusitala and it would be handy if it was even an average pizza joint. Sadly over 4 years we (family of 4) have been there 3 times and after every time vow never again - this time we mean it. The service this time was slightly better than the previous times, but still poor, the food however is absolutely dreadful. I had a simple pasta in tomato and basil and at £7.50 you'd expect something as simple as this to be half decent, but when it arrived and I saw it was made with dried basil the alarm bells rang. They would be better to just use jar of sauce from a supermarket as it was terrible - maybe it was from a jar. My wife had a filo pastry in a tomato sauce and felt ill after a few mouthfuls, the so called sauce consisted of whole tinned tomatoes that must have been heated briefly with vinegar and sugar and then thickened with arrowroot. When we complained about the food, the waitress told us "well you've eaten some" and "other people like it". Couldn't be bothered kicking a fuss but will this time stick to our guns and no more chances. Lastly the toilets are absolutely disgusting.

We were expecting some really good food when you look at the exterior and interior. We ordered Bruschetta for around £5 . One piece of burnt bread, with some chopped tomatoes on it . No garlic ,herbs ,olive oil.For our maiin we had two east coast haddock , meatballs in tomatoes and rosemary sauce(daughter didn't eat it) and two wood fired pizzas . Haddock was ok , meatballs were tough ,not fresh and the sauce tasted like it was out of a jar . The pizzas had no taste which were wood fired. Once you have been to la favorit for a wood fired pizza there is a big difference. The chips were just cooked and straight out the freezer . For the price you pay we were expecting far better quality but all you are paying for is the surroundings .Whilst another couple were eating their main the waitress was on her hands and knees sweeping the floor at hte tables either side of them ! If i wanted normal pub grub food at half the price go elsewhere. The stable bar round the corner has far better food than here. Would not go back again and would not reccomend. I scored it one for the surroundings and another 1 for the fish

Fri Night

Had booked a restaurant in town but at last minute decided to go to Tusitala as we live local and decided we couldn't be bothered to go up town. Never again! Whilst the service was okay, the food was awful and overpriced. I had fish and chips and the batter was really soggy and chips weren't great. My wife had a chicken bruschetta which was £15 and the chicken was very very dry. Would not recommend and will not go again.
