Wuthering Heights

Wuthering Heights
By Felix Pellefigues 2nd Sep 2008

Wuthering Heights, Emily Bronte's only novel, is now considered a classic of English literature and is one of the greatest romantic stories ever written. It is the story of the wildly passionate but doomed love between Heathcliff and Catherine Earnshaw. Their unresolved passion eventually destroys them both and after Catherine's death a tormented Heathcliff embarks on a ruthless vendetta against those who had prevented them from being together. Set in the wilds of Yorkshire this fierce vision of an extraordinary passion in which heaven and hell, nature and society, dynamic and passive forces clash, has a unique and timeless appeal.

"... he's more myself than I am. Whatever our souls are made of, his and mine are the same"

Wuthering Heights is produced by Birmingham Repertory Theatre and the Touring Consortium who have together toured some of the most successful productions in the last ten years, including 'Of Mice and Men', 'To Kill A Mockingbird', and most recently ‘She Stoops to Conquer' with Colin Baker and Liza Goddard.
