Edinburgh International Festival - Hot Shows For 09 & Try Before You Buy
By Edinburgh International Festival 21st Apr 2009

Since our box office opened on 4 April we've had a record number of online bookings with over 60% of ticket purchases made through our website at eif.co.uk. Already a number of events have sold out and many have only a limited number of tickets remaining. There are still lots of opportunities to experience Festival 09 but if you haven't got around to planning your festival we recommend purchasing your tickets sooner rather than later!

The full updated list of sold out and limited ticket availability performances can be found on the Festival Insider blog at eif.co.uk/blog.

Try before you buy

If you're not sure which Festival events to book for or would like a taster of what's in store before you purchase tickets, why not explore the Multimedia galleries on our website?

You can watch short video clips from performers in our music programme including Philharmonia Orchestra and Tenebrae; opera including St Kilda and Actus tragicus and theatre shows such as Peter and Wendy.

There are also audio tracks provided by our friends at Passionato for most of our music performances, for instance Sir Willard White, Ivo Pogorelich, European Union Baroque Orchestra, Made in Scotland and many more.

While you're at it, why not browse some event image galleries for productions such as Faust, Diaspora, The Return of Ulysses or Il ritorno d'Ulisse in patria.

We'll be adding more multimedia to our site over the coming weeks so stay tuned.

Casting update
